Scientific review on the management of analgesia and sedation in the polytrauma patient. Analgesia to prevent pain in polytraumatized patients are performed to prevent it at the sensitive, hormonal, cardiovascular and respiratory levels. Pain compromises the management of the patient indirectly causing injuries, negatively affecting their care and subsequent survival.
