An excellently written piece that beautifully captures the complexity of an ambitious and unapologetic woman. Highly recommend

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stuck inside with freezing rain outside, was perfect timing to gobble up this book! I enjoyed the story. Easy read, a chick book. Gossipy, multi marriage, old school Hollywood glamour, rags to riches, bisexual, colorful Evelyn, whose stories grabbed at me. But what sticks are the two main character’s strength, self awareness, and that they both are unapologetic about being ambitious. One of them is born with those traits and one awakens to them when challenged. Can we be self absorbed AND self aware? Evelyn’s message seems to be that accepting how complicated we are is the key. That was interesting. It reads lighter and is more entertaining than how I’ve laid it out…it’d be fun to breeze through it and also fun to look a little deeper if you’re in the mood for that.

I see no reason to spend my time reading a fake biography that seems to exist just to detail a sexual repertoire.

Absolutely boooring. Even though yes you do bond with the characters, the whole story plus the plot twist was so boring.

I literally loved this book everything about it is just YES

Such a wonderful story! The book was hard to put down. It really does show that we don’t know famous people like we think we might.
