“Mark Edwards is in a league of his own.” —Lisa Jewell, #1 New York Times bestselling author
From the author of The Wasp Trap and One in the Family—a flirtatious but innocent 9-to-5 friendship turns into the work wife from hell, for fans of Lisa Jewell and Alice Feeny.
Scott and Cindy hit it off immediately. They like the same kind of music and movies, they have the same sense of humor, and they both share a distaste towards creepy dinosaur Barry with his sexist jokes and the pressure he is putting on them both to increase listener numbers at their national radio station The Underground FM.
But when Cindy enters the picture things start to get dangerous at their once boring desk jobs. One of the stations burns down and a colleague dies, in what looks like a horrible accident. Cindy gets closer to Scott and his wife Rachel, until Scott is spending more time with his work wife than the woman he’s been married to for years.
Then Scott and Cindy’s station manager Barry is found dead. And this time it’s clearly no accident…
