Wow. Just wow. This book had me in a chokehold from page one. It's pure adventure from the very start—no slow buildup, no waiting around for things to get good. Callie Hart drops you right into the action and never lets up. I couldn't put it down. An absolute page turner in every sense of the phrase. This was a read full of adventure, hot steamy romance, and a Shadow Daddy that will ruin you for all other book boyfriends. You know the type—morally grey, dangerous, impossibly alluring, and somehow exactly who you want him to be despite every reason you shouldn't. The tension between the characters is off the charts, and when things finally tip over into romance? It's everything. And the banter. THE BANTER. It had me kicking my feet and giggling out loud. The chemistry between the characters leaps off the page, and Callie Hart has this way of writing dialogue that feels effortless and sharp and so damn fun. The world building is rich and immersive without ever bogging you down. You get swept up in this world of magic and danger and intrigue, and before you know it, hours have passed and you're still reading. It's the kind of book that makes you ignore your responsibilities, stay up too late, and then immediately want to reread it the second you finish. I loved every second of this book. Perfect. Perfect.

This is one of the best fantasy romances that I have ever read! This is actually the second time I have read it, and I loved it just as much. I’m getting ready to read the next one again, and I absolutely cannot wait for number 3! I hope Ms. Hart will continue even further than the third book, because there are so many possibilities to continue on with these characters. I have recommended this book to family and friends. It is a beautiful and wondrous read!

So I’m a little late to this whole fae world and all things dark romance but let me tell you when I say this book was amazing. And the 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ really sent me over the edge.

A darkly charming story full of grotesque magic, unexpected softness, and one of the most lovable chaotic men ever written. The moment he tells Saeirs he’s about to “introduce her to the seven gods” lives rent-free in my mind. I wasn’t ready. NO ONE is ready. The level of dark, confident energy Devastating. Completely illegal. Bless Kingfisher for that moment. And Carrion… listen. I LOVE that adorable disaster. He’s funny without trying, brave without meaning to be, and unintentionally soft in the best way. Carrion owns my whole heart, accidentally.
