Description

This volume of rhetorical study is a first-of-its-kind for the undergraduate curriculum of Southern Methodist University. We provide a rhetorical analysis of the presidential rhetoric of George W. Bush. This is especially important and valuable because the course was conducted over 12 days at the nation’s newest presidential library. The class met in the reconstructed “Situation room” taken from the original Bush White House and reassembled at the Presidential library site in Dallas. Eight students met daily from 1-5 p.m. for lectures and time in the presidential archives, working toward a goal of producing a 20-page chapter about an important speech in the history of the Bush Administration.
