The banter and inner dialogue is nearly perfect. Funny and relatable for how both parties think. A genuine look at how trauma and vulnerability and lead to greater relationships (and spice.) A story of personal growth while intertwining some new takes on classics tropes. It earns 5 stars from me.

Great story, made me laugh and giggle but never put the book down.

What I enjoyed most was the beginning of Hannah and Garrett’s story and watching them gradually fall for each other. Their relationship developed naturally, and I’m glad the plot didn’t spend much more time on Justin. The ending of the book felt a bit flat to me. Some of the banter was great, and certain parts of the story clearly reflect the time in which it was written. I read the book after watching the show, and I honestly think many of the changes made for the adaptation were necessary. The book served a great snapshot of romance storytelling in the 2000s - 2010s. Thank goodness time has changed romantic storytelling. ❤️

I am not a reader at all, but The Deal completely changed that for me. From the very first chapter, I was hooked and could not put it down. The chemistry between the characters, the humor, the emotion, and the storyline kept me turning pages late into the night. I finished the entire book in just three days, which is something I never do! If you’re looking for a book that will make you laugh, swoon, and stay up way past your bedtime, this is it. Absolutely loved every minute of it and can’t wait to read the next one in the series.
