I liked her use of the present tense. It was a real Page Turner. A little repetitive here and there, but still a good story.

Nothing great. Disappointed in the ending. The pace was pretty slow and I was not rooting for the couple.

What a waste of time. A beginning that showed promise followed by the same drivel over and over. Changing the characters who might be behind the issues does nothing to ramp up even a tiny bit of suspense. And then it just ends as if nothing has happened. I have liked Shari Lapena in the past, but she should be ashamed of this one.

Book summary: Wealthy people buy their way out of things, poor people stay poor, everyone is unhappy. Could we have had one small win somewhere? A ray of hope? A glimmer of lessons learned? Nope.

Surprised 😮, shocking 😳 soooo good. I couldn’t put it down. Literally read it all the way through in a day. Oh the rich and privileged. Champagne problems? 🥂No thank you. I really felt Ramirez’ pain by the end. Part of me wanted them to go to jail and surprisingly part of me didn’t. So conflicted
