Just finished this amazing journey of a book. Overwhelmed by beauty and sadness and a lifetime of memories all stirred up and re-lived in the process of living into King’s masterpiece of a story.

This is a wonderful love story. I couldn’t stop reading it.

I’m still crying as I write this. Cannot wait to read her next novel. I love a book where you get lost…this one is it! Enjoy!!

Stunningly interesting story. I was about to give up on novels, so many of the celebrated ones I’ve read recently have been a disappointment. This wasn’t. I’m not one to read love stories, but this is a “lives and loves” story. It’s complicated. But don’t most of us have more than one love in our lives? Our hearts have room for many loves. “Love” means intricacy, acceptance, and forgiveness. I felt truly invested in the story. I enjoyed Ms King’s writing style, the characters, and just loved the story. My faith in literature has been restored. I just may try another of her books.

Loved the book. Similar writing style to Sally Rooney’s books with such character depth and amazing story.

That’s why it is so hard to put it down. I kept waiting for things to get easier. But they didn’t. A very different approach to a very familiar plot- disparate young friends navigating life. Loved it and will read more from Lily King.

Wow. Not the typical book I read but I loved it so much. So beautifully written. So sad. Highly recommend
