Description

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Jack Reacher will make three stops today. Not all of them were planned for. The “blockbuster” (Esquire) new Jack Reacher thriller from #1 New York Times bestselling authors Lee Child and Andrew Child, featuring “the best villain yet” (USA Today)!

Don’t miss the hit streaming series Reacher!

First—a Baltimore coffee shop. A seat in the corner, facing the door. Black coffee, two refills, no messing around. A minor interruption from two of the customers, but nothing he can’t deal with swiftly. As he leaves, a young guy brushes against him in the doorway. Instinctively Reacher checks the pocket holding his cash and passport. There’s no problem. Nothing is missing.

Second—a store to buy a coat. Nothing fancy. Something he can ditch when he heads to warmer climates. Large enough to fit a man the size of a bank vault. As he pulls out his cash, he finds something new in his pocket. A handwritten note. A desperate plea for help.

Third—wherever this bend in the road takes him. Impressed by the guy’s technique and intrigued by the message, Reacher makes it his mission to find out more . . .

I’ve enjoyed the Reacher series from the start. These past couple books, however, have been substandard with this one being poor. Definitely not the standard of the Reacher stories as before. If you buy the book to read, it’s a coin toss if you’ll like it. The only thing I liked was it was still Jack Reacher.
  • Not bad, not great

It certainly is worth buying and reading. On the other hand, it’s not a ‘must read”. The action is fine, but there is not the supporting structure of strong characters to help make it a book you can’t put down. Certainly not sorry I read it, but Reacher needs to do better if I’m going to automatically buy every book that follows. Reacher’s interaction with the other characters could be stronger…he didn’t really connect with any of them…nor did I.
  • Detail like a screen play.

Two many details within each scene for a book. Unless you’re objective is to fill pages with words to sell books, or you’re trying to entice Hollywood to buy the story. Maybe Mr. Child was once a good writer, but now he’s just another printing machine.

Been a Lee Child/Reacher fan for years. This book was a convoluted mess. It seems like Andrew took over the writing and doesn’t quite have the grasp that Lee had on the essence of Jack Reacher. Bought it because it was on sale for $2.99. Still want my money back.

This was a quick read and not as nonstop action of the rest of the series.
  • Very good read

Another excellent book. Totally lived up to the legacy of Reacher
  • Story line wasn’t as good as previous ones.

It was pretty good. In the beginning, it was difficult to keep all the characters straight. Also, I didn’t think the character development was as good as it has been in previous Reacher books.

I’ve read all of the books in the Reacher series. I struggled to finish this one. Don’t waste your money.

I liked the non stop action and secondary plot twists.
