It’s been a while since I read grey wolf, so upon picking up black wolf, I decided to reread grey, as the plots in both are quite complex. Glad I did, and while this black wolf was more disturbing and far more thought provoking, as it has such timely real life consequences, I am torn on my evaluation. I’m relieved that this book was written even with truths that are difficult to accept, and will remind all of us that change begins with each of us, no one can do it for us, and we alone control our actions and choices. A lot of heavy lifting for an entertaining pursuit, but all necessary. Read this one with an open mind, take one action that you can do today to make a change, it is for all our futures. As to the actual story, characters and art form of the writing, there is none better out there. Thanks Louise, for the courage, heart and fortitude it takes to putting your craft out there. Three pines will continue to comfort me, as long as you, continue to weave its magic.

It’s a lecture. No emotional connection to character except from the past books.. very disappointing and obvious politically… and the president has “ a motherly bun?.” Pulleeeze! No woman who looks like that could get elected and it’s really sexist to characterize her that way… ugh…and the plot was far too confusing!

Maybe her best Three Pines story yet, but scary and I hope wrong about USA invading Canada.
