Poignant Reid

This book is an interesting read involving many flawed characters and their interwoven lives over several generations/decades. I thought the first 2/3 was more interesting, than there is a segment that seems to be a bit fast forward in order to get to a poignant and profound conclusion. Overall, I enjoyed the book and would recommend it.

I wanted to keep reading and reading! Deeply-real expressions of life and the challenges that come along with owning one’s actions! Thank you

During that era in Ohio/Columbus it brings back many memories. Especially if you shopped at Lazarus. Nice period piece and had a not expected theme within the story.

I tired hard to enjoy this book, but I guess I just didn't like the story line.
Tough to get through and depressing

This was a well written book, but by no means enjoyable. It dragged and dragged for me with no reward or happy ending.
Epic

Such a poignant tale of families, time moving forward and what we do with it. Or because of it.
couldn’t stop reading

it was hard to put this book down. the setting was laid out beautifully, and made you really feel like you were a part of the story itself, watching the characters’ stories unfold. got a little repetitive at some parts, but otherwise was a great book. if you enjoy historical fiction, this book is perfect for you!

It was well written, but a sad book. Do not read if you are looking for something light hearted.
