There are likely a million ways to tell this story - but I found this book to be the perfect balance for me. Very enjoyable.

This was an absolutely brilliant read. The author took a very complicated story and made it compelling and completely understandable to someone who wasn’t in the trenches. Well done.
Murdaugh the Monster

Better than I expected it to be. I have followed this case from the beginning, and listened to Mandy Matney’s podcast from its early days. This book included a details I don’t recalll seeing or reading elsewhere. The murders were horrific. But jail is too good an outcome for what he did to the Pinckneys, Satterfield boys and others he took advantage of when they were most vulnerable.

I was already familiar with this case and its many sordid details, yet the author presents the story with such clarity and depth that it still felt revelatory. I especially appreciated the inclusion of new insights into the family’s history, which added fresh perspective to a well-known tragedy.
Great read!

This book explains how big of a dirt bag this loser was. He’s such a dirtbag and filled with such a level of depravity I feel glad he annihilated his own family instead of someone else’s. He’s garbage. Firing squad and be done. Excellent book, such descriptive language makes you feel every indiscretion he perpetrated.

Read like a suspense novel, even though the outcome was known.

Such a great book.. helped that I had already seen the documentary as well which gave faces to the people and places .
Great writing and it felt like the story was unraveling right in front of my eyes on every page . Will definitely read other books from this author. A MUST READ if you are into crime documentaries.
The Devil at His Elbow

The book was well written and very detailed. I think what kept me intrigued to keep reading was to understand how someone could kill their son (and wife) with no remorse. I am not sure I got my answer.
