    I stumbled on this series when looking for my next book. I love series style books. This is kind of a spicy romance, adventure series. This is the first book in the series and was a good read. I love the characters and feel sucked into their world! Only draw back is that I’ve found some grammatical errors throughout the books in the series that can be a slight nuisance. I believe that this is self-published, which makes me willing to overlook those errors.

    This is your typical book about a timid girl who was an “abused and battered” even though she’s a good girl, who melts the terrible kings heart and makes him human again. Honestly it’s pretty unoriginal.

    So I liked it but I didn’t love it. The writing style was very engaging, leaving you hanging just enough to progress chapters while alternating perspectives. The plot, however enjoyable, had many predictable moments. I felt a lot of anticlimactic “I bet it’s xyz… yup, thought so” as opposed to an excited “yes, I was right!”. Some of what I believe was intended as subtle foreshadowing was a bit obvious. That said, I did enjoy the progression, the development of the relationship, and (again) the chapter to chapter progression. I’ll probably grab another of this authors books to check out.

    Besides the poor grammar, this is a pretty rough read. The dialogue is painfully unnatural, and the world building is paper thin. Not an original plot, and unfortunately the smutty scenes aren’t even as descriptive as you’d hope for in a book like this. It was fine to read in between reading other better books to keep me busy, and it was free after all, but I would not recommend this book.

    I enjoyed reading this book. It has a good storyline and good character development. There are funny moments and there are some hot scenes as well. All in all a very entertaining book. I can’t wait to read the next one.

    I absolutely love this series! I have read all books up until the 8th book. Can’t wait to start reading that. There are some errors in the book but enough to make me dislike it. The author is great at moving between characters with ease!
