Okay so. This is a good book. However, it’s famous and A TON of people ADORE it, which I’m not sure I completely understand. I understand it was revolutionary for its time.
GIRLS. BEING BOTH GOOD. AND BAD! Whaaat? It’s like we’re human or something! So props to Louisa May Alcott, who dared to defy the ridiculous, difficult world she was born in. I will say, it’s VERY long, and boring at times. [Also Jo -and Louisa May Alcott- were LGBTQIA2+, according to historians. Go equality and diversity! 👏😃👏 ] [Though, despite what I just said, if Jo had to choose between Laurie and the German teacher in his 40s, WHY NOT LAURIE?]
For the sake of culture, the past, and such, read it. But don’t expect too much.
