I don’t yet have words for this book. I’ve heard from so many people how good it is, and it is so.

While it was a bit more verbose than I prefer, it’s beautifully written and interwoven with lots of life wisdom, and extols moral character and honor. A lighter storyline than Dickens or Dostoevsky, but poignant and humorous nonetheless.

George Eliot weaves together a rich tapestry of human lives of diverse character and many fates. Brilliantly written; it deserves its place in the pantheon of great books.
