Description

Schneider Wrack was dead. Until he wasn’t.
Convicted of a crime he’s almost completely sure he didn’t commit, executed, reanimated, then pressed into service aboard a vast trawler on the terrible world of Ocean, he was set to spend his afterlife working until his mindless corpse falls apart.
But now he’s woken up, trapped in a rotting body, arm-deep in the stinking meat and blubber of a sea monster, and he’s not happy. It’s time for the dead to rise up.
From the stench and brine of Ocean to the fetid jungle of Grand Amazon, Schneider’s career as a revolutionary won’t be easy.
But sometimes a zombie’s gotta do what a zombie’s gotta do…

This is not your normal Science Fiction, Fantasy or Horror novel. It’s all of them- and none of them. The most creative writing I’ve seen in some years. Well worth reading.

I picked up this book after reading through some very lengthy Stephen King novels and decided I needed a “shorter book break”. As with most sci fi books it takes a little bit to immerse yourself in the new world, but once that was settled I welcomed the new concepts. Most stories about zombies are told from the perspective of the prey of the zombie. This book turned the idea around and made a zombie a hero. I loved the characters established in the book and i felt it had just the right pacing. I can’t wait for the next book by Nate Crowley and hopefully I have just found myself a new favorite author.
