Such a powerful and well- written piece of work. Very inspiring and at some points hard to read because its heartbreaking to hear and see the turbulence, trauma, and abuse you (Tara) endured but beautiful to see it was used in the end as portal to a life full of intellectualism and individualism.

I found it amazing. I truly laughed in the beginning not understanding the extent of the trauma until towards the end, when as a grown woman, Tara kept going back home. The truly can be more entertaining than tv!!!!!
  • Gut wrenching but hopeful

Hard to put down and hard to not wince with fear or anger or sadness or relief. What an honor to be given a view into such a complex life and to see how it unfolded.

It’s hard to wrap your head around the insane upbringing from a bipolar mormon extremist. Tara’s tale is brutal, eye opening, and downright disturbing. Abuse is a huge theme in her life story but she never desires pity. Instead she highlights perseverance and becoming your own savior. It’s inspirational, shocking, unique, and all too real. Truly a book you must read yourself to believe.
  • A worthwhile read

Educated was an interesting read. I liked the cadence, which kept me going. At first I tired of the “hick” background, but then, it became a broader metaphor for everyone separating from their family legacy.
  • A fantastically dramatic telling of my own life?

I have not been so enthralled by a book in years. As extreme as Westover’s story is it is simultaneously relatable in a way that tickles my brain and scratches an itch I didn’t know I had. 10/10 would recommend to about 1/2 of my friends.
  • Wow.

All the unpacking and unlearning she had to do. Props to Tara for having someone point her towards a way out. She is definitely better away from her family🙏🏽 Hopefully, the family can have a different pov and her bro can get some help👀
