A very sad, but stunning history that invaded the Osage. The book is a gripping read, hard to put down. Well written and sympathetic.

and the research that brought it all together. The way JEH took the credit and was able to remake a second rate department into a more polished and professional National Police force was genius…although the man certainly has his issues. Definitely the best true crime ever written, on par with In Cold Blood.

Excellent. Love that he shows his sources. So unbelievable that this happened and was allowed to happen.
  • Boring and repetitive

This was so well researched and written and all the details made it a very easy read. Couldn’t put it down. However, my love of social justice made me so angry. Knowledge is powerful and we all need to know our history. I highly recommend this book and the story of the Osage Indians is one I hope never to forget or ignore.
  • Excellent book. Meticulously researched.
